About
Hello! My name is Chris Plante. I was born and raised in the Vancouver area of British Columbia, Canada.
As a child, I grew up playing many sports. Also, I was an avid cartoonist during the school years. Hence, my artistic ability was born. I should have spent more time in class paying attention in class but my imagination kept high-jacking my attention span. Therefore, my grades could have been better. On the bright side, my artistic/creative side was developing.
In recent years, I have fallen in love with photography. I guess because it’s something you can do almost anywhere. It gives me an excuse to visit new places and explore new subjects. Drawing is sometimes fun but it takes patience. A lot of the time, I dont have the patience to finish an illustration or painting. Photography on the other hand, gives me quicker results. Plus, being somewhat of a “tech geek”, it’s fun playing with all the digital goodies.
As a young adult, I did pursue the arts taking some college art classes and such. However, I was afraid of being a “Starving Artist”. Maybe it was a fear of success? Either way, I am happy now. Currently, I work as a Plumber/Pipefitter. It definetly is an interesting and trade with many branches and challenges to the occupation.
When not working, I enjoy photography, web design, and the outdoors. I have reached a balance between work and creativity.

Why this Blog?
To document my progress as an amatuer photographer. I dont expect to ever be a pro as it is a highly competitive field but I do expect to improve my images from “ok” to “good” to “stunning”. My ultimate goal is to get published to print. I would be soooo stoked if that happened. It’s all about the recognition of taking a great photo.
I will share what I have learned along the way, including my errors.
